Descrption: The Mentoring Validation Programme aims to develop a comprehensive system for the validation of workplace mentoring for disabled and disadvantaged people evaluating their achievements. The objectives of the project are to identify and evaluate key features of existing mentoring programs in order to produce a code of practice for successful mentoring, to develop and implement mentoring programmes in Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia based on a thoroughgoing process of cultural adaptation and finally to promote in the whole Europe an efficient code of practice for mentoring programs. The target group of the project comprises in general, employers, disabled people and other people disadvantaged in the labour market (unemployed). This project involves ten organisations from five different member states (and apart from e-ISOTIS, the others are MARIE CURIE ASSOCIATION (Coordinator)- Bulgaria, EUROCONSULTING LTD. – Bulgaria, MUNICIPALITY OF SLIVEN – Bulgaria, H-FOUNDATION – Romania, THE ROMANIAN ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE WITH SOMATIC HANDICAP – Romania, DOBROVITA PLUS D.O.O. – Slovenia, ŠENT – Slovenia, UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA/FACULTY OF EDUCATION IN LJUBLJANA – Slovenia and FRENCH AND BURT LTD. – United Kingdom. The partners consist of voluntary organisations, social enterprises, consulting companies, university departments and a municipality of Bulgaria. This project is partially financed by the DG Education and Culture of the European Commission under Leonardo Da Vinci – Community Vocational Training Action Programme (Second phase: 2000-2006) and its duration is 24 months, (01 October 2005 - 30 September 2007)
e-ISOTIS (Information Society Open To ImpairmentS) is a non-profit making organisation founded in December 2002, representing People with Disabilities, Elderly, their spouses as well as members of the ICT (Information Communication Technology) community, worldwide. Currently, its associated members represent 350.000 people with impairments, located in European countries. e-ISOTIS’ scope is to ensure that people with disabilities, elderly and their families are fully involved in the preparations and activities in line with the slogan "nothing about people with disabilities without people with disabilities". By supporting People with Disabilities and elderly, e-ISOTIS aims at assisting its members in overcoming the existing barriers and experiencing an Information Society that opens up new opportunities for development, prosperity and quality of life.
