The program will highlight the differences between two different databases and provide a way to synchronize the two. What's more convenient, SQL Examiner is capable of comparing live databases with the database backups, without having to restore the database first. SQL Examiner is brainlessly simple to use. First, a technician creates a new project and selects different databases to be compared and/or synchronized. After the "Compare" button is pressed, the program examines two different databases, highlighting the differences and allowing database administrators and developers actually see what these differences are. The process of synchronization is equally simple. A person may chose to simply automatically synchronize two databases. It is also possible to limit comparison and synchronization to certain object types only or do it object by object. The two databases are synchronized by generating a smart synchronization script. For example, when changing certain table values from NULL to NOT NULL, the program will first check the values and, if it encounters entries with NULL values, it will prompt the technician enter the new values, in order to avoid mistakes. Likewise, when adding the UNIQUE constraint, the program will check if the values are UNIQUE or not first. More smart synchronizations mechanisms are available.
