Descrption:
Common Knowledge Trust which produces The Pink Kit Method for birthing
better® is pleased to announce that the Director and Founder will be heading again to the United States, UK and Pakistan to spread The Pink Kit message. Wintergreen, the founder of Common Knowledge Trust will be based in Oregon from the end of April through August 2006 where she will continue to promote The Pink Kit concept. All the positive changes that have occurred in childbirth since the 1970s, the rise in caesarean rates has astonished everyone.

Since 1995 Wintergreen has lived in New Zealand where midwives achieved a political success . they became the lead maternity providers for the 56,000 births/year since 1990. Unfortunately, midwifery care did not create the desired impact on an already rising c/s rate. In NZ the rate is equal to other developed countries which have medically lead maternity services, close to 30%. Based on statistics kept by two New Zealand midwives since 2001, for expectant parents who teach themselves The Pink Kit skills during the last 16 weeks of pregnancy, the caesarean rate is about 5-8%. (see www.birthingbetter.com/statistics).

Last year Wintergreen trained the first United States Pink Kit presenters then travelled on to the United Kingdom and trained the first UK Pink Kit presenter. She had planned to teach in Pakistan for two months, however, the devastating earthquake postponed that trip until this year. As the primary
spokesperson for Common Knowledge Trust, Wintergreen's job is to explain to people the importance of having good birth and birth coaching skills.

The two New Zealand midwives, Ms. Andrea Vincent and Ms. Suzie Hume have come to the conclusion that the emphasis on 'choice' and 'information' is not sufficient for reducing the c/s rate. Ms. Vincent and Ms. Hume will be presenting their statistics at the National NZCOM conference in September 2006. While they will be trying to get more of their professional colleagues to change their practice and require expectant parents to learn The Pink Kit skills, Wintergreen speaks directly to couples. Midwifery Today magazine in Eugene, Oregon has published a number of Pink Kit articles written by Wintergreen on behalf of Common Knowledge Trust and they will be the local distributor of The Pink Kit resources.

The Pink Kit presenters in Illinois have been offering presentations to
couples this past year and a new Pink Kit presenter will be trained in North Carolina in August. Several more New Zealand presenters are ready to offer
expectant parents a Pink Kit experience while Wintergreen is over seas. For
