Portugal and France, after beating out England and Brazil! Could you imagine this semifinal in advance? Hardly beleive. But everything started against Netherlands (Portugal won a heroic match, maybe the best game on this World Cup) and Togo (France had have to win by 2 golas difference to qualify into 16 and they played like the lions). More interestingly you can not find South-American teams in the semifinals. Neither Argentina, nor Brazil. Is this World Cup about the referees? No, it is about the European teams. All the 4 teams arrived to the semifinals from Europe. Yes, Germany is a must at home, but Argentina made big mistakes: tried to play Eurpean style defensive play after scored against Germany. Brazil, packed with top scorers, could not score a single goal against France. Maybe the European football (European soccer) is more creative: Germany plays atomic football, France's style is a good mix of defense and attack, Italy always a threat for any opponent, Portugal team is called the Brazil team of Europe.
