Many websites are now allowing users to anonymously send emails to friend and family. Although the benefits from such services are clear - for example sending an email from your email address, from another computer - the potential for this technology to fall into the wrong hands is evident. Websites such as Email-Sent.com allow users to send emails to anyone using fake sender addresses and fake sender names. The owner of Email-sent says "Although we have yet to come across evidence of our website being abused, it's not to say it doesn't happen". He than adds "The main purpose of our site and others like it is to provide users a place to send an email, preferably from their own personal email address, via the web". One potential way to solve the problem involves screening all emails sent before the go to the recipient. This, however, is not going to be implemented into the major player in the market.
