 Wenham, MA -- The Expanding Horizons of Christian History, a Northeast Regional Meeting of the Conference on Faith and History, will bring seven historical sessions, a film, and multiple historical paper presentations to the Gordon College campus. This conference is open to the public. The two-day conference will take place on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, 2006.

Sessions will include topics like “Blue State Fundamentalists: A Short and Complicated History of Conservative Protestants in Boston” by author Margaret Lamberts Bendroth; “The Oxford Movement and the 'Ancient Church' of England”; and the North Shore premier of the film Theologians under Hitler: The Century’s Greatest Disaster by Steven B. Martin, based on the book by Robert P. Ericksen. The screening of this film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Roger J. Green, Terrelle B. Crum Chair of Humanities at Gordon College; Rodney L. Petersen of the Boston Theological Institute; and Richard Pierard, Stephen Phillips Chair of History of Gordon College.

The conference is sponsored by the History Department at Gordon College. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to host this gathering. It is a wonderful opportunity for students and the public to interact with historians from around the region on topics ranging from Egypt in the Middle Ages to Christianity in Boston,” states Dr. Jennifer Hevelone-Harper, Chair of the History Department at Gordon.
