Descrption: W32/Kelvir-B is an instant messaging worm that spreads by sending a message through Windows Messenger to all of an infected user's contacts. W32/Kelvir-B arrives as an attachment called omg.pif in a message that encourages the recipient to visit a web page to download an update and reads: omg this is funny! "http://home.earthlink.net/~GALLERY10/OMG.PIF" W32/Kelvir-B will attempt to download a file named PATCH.EXE from a remote website and save it as C:\patch.exe The possible side effects are listed below; 1. Sends itself to email addresses found on the infected computer. 2. Downloads code from the Internet and reduces system security. MicroWorld has listed the new worm at a risk level of "Medium" for now and is in the process of monitoring the same.
