Descrption: This Saturday the 1st October sees rectifi.org.uk, the new search engine that donates 100% of its profits to charity, select ChildLine to benefit from all funds raised over Christmas.
As well as allowing users to raise money for charity, when searching the web through rectifi rather than Google, rectifi allows shoppers to search over 400 different shops – including high street stores such as Littlewoods, Currys, Marks & Spencers and WH Smith – to find the perfect gifts for Christmas.
Each of these shops have agreed to pay an advertising commission of up to 20% to rectifi, a volunteer-run website, which then donates every penny it receives after costs to charity. This commission is generated at no cost to the shopper, allowing them to raise money for ChildLine whilst buying the same gifts at the same prices from the same shops!
Better yet, by using rectifi’s price comparison feature, shoppers can see at a glance the cheapest shops to buy their DVDs, digital cameras, CD albums, mp3 players and much more without the hassle of chasing up and down the high street.
“We’re very pleased to offer ChildLine our support at such a crucial time”, said Jonny Platt, founder of rectifi. “It would be a tragedy if their nightline – which helps over 140,000 distressed children a year – was forced to close, and we hope parents will take this unique opportunity to support children in danger whilst buying presents for children of their own this Christmas”
ChildLine is the UK’s free 24 hour helpline for children and young people. ChildLine was established in 1986 to offer counselling to children facing difficult circumstances in their lives, ranging from bullying and family matters to physical and sexual abuse. Over the last 18 years Childline has counselled over 1.5 million young people and children, with almost one in five callers suffering abuse.
