You need not to learn the video configurations before you start recording the webcam. Just take the following steps:
1. Run oRipa MSN / Yahoo Webcam Recorder as the MSN or Yahoo webcam is connected.
2. Choose the directory you would like to save your video (e.g. save your video to the desktop).
3. Press the record icon at the bottom right of the software when you would like to start recording the webcam.
4. Press the stop icon at the bottom right of the software to stop recording. You will see your video is saved in your preset directory (e.g. desktop).

3. When you set the FPS too low (e.g. 5 FPS), you will find your recorded video lag. When you set a high FPS (e.g. 50 fps), you may find your CPU over loan after recording for a long time. Normally 25 frames per second (FPS) of your recorded video is quite well to general smooth play back.

4. You can use VirtualDub or Windows Movie Maker to edit the recorded movie.
