France Ligue 1 soccer preview: Bordeaux dream of ending Lyon's supremacy. -> Girondins Bordeaux - finished on the second on the table of France Ligue 1 last season - signed creative midfielder Johan Micoud and dreaming of ending Olympique Lyon's domination of French soccer. Lyon's task is more difficult every year, because every team wants to break the hegemony. -> Lyon kept all key players, goalkeeper Gregory Coupet, midfielder Mahamadou Diarra and Brazilian Juninho. The other traditional rivals of Lyon do not look significantly stronger on paper and -> neither Paris St Germain nor Olympique Marseille appear like serious title runners. PSG: the club has new owners, no big gun signing, the only positive: striker Pauleta remains in Paris - instead of going to Lyon. Marseille: no big names among the newcomers. Back in Ligue 1 are Sedan and Lorient, plus after 13 years Valenciennes - big gamefixing scandal with Marseille -, but they have no ambition other than avoiding relegation. -> Ecobika's bet: Lyon to be the Champion of France Ligue 1 again. Bet Lyon with confidence. |
