Descrption: DEA project aims at the individuation, cataloguing and dissemination of good practices (in terms of methodologies used in successful case studies) developed by projects concerning the promotion of digital literacy (digital resources of on and offline products aimed at developing ICT skills and its responsible use) and its promotion within the EU with a target group of disabled people. Appropriate taxonomies of classification will be used to produce a catalogue of good practices. The result of this activity is the sharing of guidelines to be used for the identification and listing of good practices and consequent classification. The final outcome will be the classification and listing of good practices with as final result the creation of a rational catalogue of selected good practices, according to a pre-defined taxonomy. The project also includes both the dissemination of good practices and the results of various activities transversal to the various steps of the project.
e-ISOTIS within DEA
e-ISOTIS (Information Society Open To ImpairmentS) is a non-profit making organisation founded in December 2002, representing People with Disabilities, Elderly, their spouses as well as members of the ICT (Information Communication Technology) community, worldwide. Currently, its associated members represent 350.000 people with impairments, located in European countries. e-ISOTIS’ scope is to ensure that people with disabilities, elderly and their families are fully involved in the preparations and activities in line with the slogan "nothing about people with disabilities without people with disabilities". By supporting People with Disabilities and elderly, e-ISOTIS aims at assisting its members in overcoming the existing barriers and experiencing an Information Society that opens up new opportunities for development, prosperity and quality of life. Within the DEA project, e-ISOTIS is involved in the identification of good practices in Europe, their proper evaluation, and their subsequent dissemination through the project website and DEA conference that will be held in 2006.
