Descrption: Four days of great fashion will take place at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex from March 14-17, 2006. Off-site shows will take place across the city until March 19.
Produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), L'Oréal Fashion Week, kicks off the week with an impressive line up of Canadian design talent, representing some of Canada's rising stars from coast to coast, including Arthur Mendonça from Toronto, Paul Hardy from Calgary and Mackage from Montreal.
With a wonderful array of established and emerging designers showing this season, L'Oréal Fashion Week will present 30 designers, including the renowned labels of Comrags, David Dixon, Denis Gagnon and Joeffer Caoc. Pink Tartan also returns to the runway, capping off the week with its sophisticated and contemporary collection.
Look for hot new labels Beckerman, Public and Pink Cobra to make their debut on the runway. Open to the public for the first time is the Toronto Fashion Incubator (tfi) New Labels® Fashion Show featuring three young designer finalists, Cincyn, PierreJale and Nostalgy to be held at The Arcadian Court on Wednesday, March 16.
While attending the shows be sure to check out all the exciting exhibits in the Fashion Environment area at the Liberty Grand. It includes several installations plus a unique exhibit designed by students from George Brown College Schools of Fashion and Design entitled Fashion and Design Elevate Commerce to Culture. The exhibit is the first-ever public display of the White Cashmere Collection from Cottonelle. Fashion illustrator John Coburn will work live on the Fashion Environment floor throughout the week.
The Line Up L'Oréal Fashion Week continues to provide business opportunities for Canadian fashion industry professionals and facilitate the exchange of ideas amongst established and upcoming designers, retail buyers, media, industry and VIP trade professionals. It will also unveil Fall 2006's hottest new looks from Canada's top fashion designers, along with up-and-coming design talent.
