Costa del Sol Still one of the golfing capitals of the world
If you are a keen golfer, then you will know the Costa del Sol is one of the best places to have a round or two all year round. The Costa del Sol is home to some of the best golf courses in the world, Valderrama, San Roque and Seve Ballesteros’s Alhaurin Golf Course.
With guaranteed sunshine virtually all year round, the Costa holds at least one of the major tournaments every year. This year the Spanish Open was held at San Roque Golf Course and The European Masters held at Valderrama. These tournaments are without a doubt a great day out for all the family and represent great value for money.
In the past couple of years some of Spain’s golf courses have been criticised for high green fees, however this is beginning to change and fees are expected to drop further in 2007. If you shop around, there are now many great deals on offer for most golf courses (from €20 for nine holes and €40 for 18 holes). With the great variety of courses to choose from offering great value for money and with an un-rushed round of golf, this is now fast becoming again the place to play golf.

I am one of the directors of WW Property Investments, a keen golfer and have lived in the south of Spain for some time now. Faceless Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts are now a thing of the past. Frequent visitors are now opting to purchase a second property here, where they can come and go as they please and have home from home accommodation for the duration of their stay. Many owners also see this as the perfect opportunity to turn their property into an investment, by offering their property for short holiday rentals to similar like minded people. |
